Who you are — you don’t have to disclose your identity, but there must be a person even with a pseudonym (not anonymous) for attracting readers and subscribers
Your blog’s editorial window (“niche,” although that’s the wrong word) — what your blog is generally about or tends to focus on
Your writing doesn’t have to be perfect for a blog. It only needs to be reasonably readable — and reasonably formatted (which you still have to do anyway even for a piece written by someone else).
On the balance of all practical probabilities, it’s easier (and cheaper) to write your own stuff.
